Other Services

FREE Urine Pregnancy Testing

Pregnancy testing is on a walk-in basis, no appointment is necessary. There is no charge for this urine sensitive test. The recommended time to take a pregnancy test is when the patient is at least one week late from the missed period. The urine sensitive test is very accurate with quick results. A counselor will meet with the patient to discuss the results and the patient's options.

Blood Draw Pregnancy Testing

Some patients prefer to have a blood draw taken to confirm pregnancy. A blood pregnancy test measures the amount of pregnancy hormone in the patient's body. This test gives a numerical count of the hormone and from that number a range of possible gestation is given. There is a minimal fee for this test and an appointment needs to be made ahead of time. The results of this test are usually ready in 2-4 days. A counselor will meet with the patient to discuss the results and the patient's options.

Counseling

Counseling sessions are available to discuss concerns or questions that the patients have regarding their health care needs. Counselors are available during regular operating hours to talk with patients. HPV and Cancer Prevention/Treatment:

A colposcopy is a special method using an instrument called a colposcope to magnify the cervix approximately fifteen times allowing the Doctor to see more than during a routine pelvic exam. This method is recommended for a variety of reasons: an abnormal Pap smear, cervical abnormalities, or a history of HPV (Human Papillomavirus). A biopsy (taking small pieces of tissue from the cervix) of tissue may also be done by the Doctor for a pathologist to examine further. The pathologist will report back to the Doctor with the findings. If abnormal cells are found Laser Surgery may be needed to remove them. Patients who need these services will be notified by a counselor and will be given information on the procedure. The counselor will assist the patient in setting up an appointment for these procedures.
